The 2024 Zinfandel Juvenile is a very pretty entry-level offering from Turley. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, spice and mint give this mid-weight, perfumed red tons of character. The 2024 is an especially delicate, gracious Zinfandel. What a beauty.  - By Antonio Galloni on November 2025

Once again, my annual tasting at Turley encompassed several dozen wines. The range is a bit reduced this year, as Turley has dropped some of their more esoteric offerings. Even so, there is a lot to explore in this extensive lineup. The 2024s offer a bit more immediacy and forward fruit than the 2023s but also convey a good deal of energy, vibrancy and site character. Yields were on the low side, especially in Paso Robles, where many vineyards were hit by frost.

Tasting at Turley is a deep exploration into some of the most historic old-vine sites in California. It’s one of the tastings I look forward to most every year. Kudos to Proprietor Larry Turley and Winemaker Tegan Passalacqua for being such passionate stewards of these vineyards. Best of all, these wines remain exceptionally well priced. Some of my favorites this year include the 2024 Zinfandel Cedarman, 2024 Zinfandel Hayne Vineyard, 2024 Petite Syrah Library Vineyard and 2024 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard.
