Ticket: L'Arco with Veneto Winemaker Luca Fedrgo Seminar (11/5, 5:30pm)
"When the time came for Fedrigo to make his own wines in 2001, the legend and master himself, Giuseppe Quintarelli helped to finance his new project. To this day, Luca Fedrigo's respect for his mentor (Giuseppe Quintarelli) and the winemaking style he learned first-hand from him remains completely intact. As a result, the wines are something truly magical. This is a Quintarelli disciple that stands out."

Come taste with us in class or after class in the shop with honorary guest and winemaker Luca Fedrigo of Valpolicella's L'Arco. Inspired by Amarone and Veneto legend Giuseppe Quintarelli, Luca Fedrigo was Quintarelli's most important "disciple" and long time former assistant winemaker. He is behind these gorgeous wines that most people just do not know about except for the most fastidious Italian collectors!
Last year I stumbled onto the L'Arco wines from Luca Fedrigo after a customer inquiry and was happily surprised to find out what these wines were and just who was behind them. I knew we were onto something BIG! We offered these wines a few times with pretty good success that grew each time, but we also had them in the store and that is when things really took off as people then started to find them through us! These have become one of our best selling wines from the Veneto from any single producer, including the big names Dal Forno and Giuseppe Quintarelli.
Luca is undoubtedly Giuseppe Quintarelli's most important assistant winemaker! The L'Arco wines stun and shine with a balance of power, finesse, and pedigree. Pound for pound, these are probably the best Valpolicella wines for the money on the market today! Make sure to read below the GREAT write up below in the bio section by Eric Guido from Vinous Media!
Alzero is a legendary passito wine made by Giuseppe Quintarelli made just like an Amarone but made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. It notches big scores and even BIGGER prices at around $500 per bottle. The Rubeo from L'Arco is an hommage to this wine, having 50+% Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, (the balance Amarone) notching a big score (94-95VM for recent vintages) but comes in at a modest $80 price! The Pario 2021 (94+VM for the 2021) is one of the most balanced Passito wines I have ever tasted, certainly the most finessed Amarone style wine I have tasted. Pario is a tribute to the Rosso del Bepi wine from Giuseppe Quintarelli. The Arcum 2022 is a Superiore Ripasso and comes in with a very impressive 93VM score, matching two other wines for top score in the 2022 vintage. This ranks as the highest score for a "Superiore Ripasso" except for one other wine that in 2021 received a 93+VM since 2010 at Vinous. Lastly, the Rosso 2023 (90VM fopr the 2022) is a GREAT value and over delivers besting many ripasso superiore I have had of late!
