Big, bold and beautiful, this wine states its case plainly with forward aromas of blackberry, violets, licorice and crushed stone. Seemingly hedonistic, the wine restrains itself on the palate with gamy and savory flavors that draw the attention deeper into the wine as it continues to develop with each minute in the glass finishing with a firm stamp of tannins on the finish.  A fragrant version, with an expressive note of steeped boysenberry, plus a warm mix of baked cherry, fig cake, dried sage and cocoa powder. Fine, chalky tannins firm the savory finish, with hints of olive, smoke and milled pepper.
