The 2023 Mataro (San Benito County) is a bit more delicate and floral than the Contra Costa Mataro, but this is not a shy wine by any means. It emerges from Enz vineyard, a site near Calera planted in 1923 on limestone and granite soils. Clean mineral notes, chalk, white pepper and spice lend tons of complexity.
