The 2021 Touriga Nacional has the advantage of the cooler year, and the wine has a little less alcohol, 14%, and more freshness. It's still quite generously oaked but the lower alcohol and higher acidity and more freshness make it come through as better balanced and with more integrated oak. They selected the best grapes, from two plots planted in 1984 and 1985, destemmed and fermented separately with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. It matured in French oak barrels, 85% of them new, for 18 months. 8,150 bottles, 200 magnums and 50 double-magnums produced. It was bottled from January 2024.
