The iconic 2023 Reserva Old Vines, or Reserva Vinhas Velhas, is a textbook modern red from Douro showing the complexity and nuance of the old field blends on schist soils with generous but nicely integrated oak and a commercial and approachable, showy profile. In 2023, it has good freshness, ripeness and 14.5% alcohol, with a pH of 3.71 and 5.4 grams of acidity. It's medium- to full bodied and fine-boned. It matured in 85% French and 15% American oak barrels, 65% of them new, for 18 months. It was bottled from November 2025.

"Quinta do Crasto, one of the leading Douro producers since 1994, has 220 hectares of vineyards in three properties in the Douro, Quinto do Crasto, Quinta do Querindelo and Quinta da Cabreira in Douro Superior, and they also rent a further 24 hectares to produce 1.5 million bottles per year.
