Quinta da Gaivosa Red 2021 is a testament to the rich terroir of the Douro Valley, offering an intense aroma of red fruits complemented by soft spices from oak aging. This wine boasts an elegant structure with excellent tannins and a long, fruity finish, reflecting the meticulous winemaking philosophy of the estate.
Composition: Primarily crafted from traditional Douro grape varietals.
Winemaking: Fermentation in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature.
Aging: Aged in oak barrels to enhance its complexity and depth.
Revista Adega (94): Composed from old vineyards (Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, and Touriga Nacional among other native varieties), cultivated at Quinta da Gaivosa, aged for 15 months in oak barrels. Shows ripe red and black fruits at the right point accompanied by floral notes, herbs, and sweet spices, confirmed on the palate, all supported by refreshing acidity and firm, fine-grained tannins, giving the wine fluidity and depth. Refined, tense, and precise, with a succulent finish, with earthy touches, blueberries, currants, eucalyptus, licorice, and graphite. It's great now but has everything to get even better in the coming decades. Alcohol 14.5%.
