The 2020 Chateau Canteloup Lestage Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux offers a glimpse into the rich terroir of the Blaye region. Known for its balanced blend and classic Bordeaux style, this wine delivers a blend of dark fruits and subtle smoky notes, enhanced with a hint of minerality. Decant for 45 minutes to fully appreciate its complexity.
Composition: Predominantly Merlot with Cabernet Franc, grown on clay-limestone soils.
Winemaking: Traditional fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
Aging: Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.
Gilbert & Gaillard (87): Beautiful robe with violet reflections, sustained. Delicate nose of ripe black and red fruits, with a woody background. The palate displays a silky texture, well-integrated tannins, and develops intense fruity aromas. Promising material.
James Suckling (89): Aromas of ripe plums and mulberries with dark spices, chocolate and wet stones. Medium-bodied and round-textured. Fine tannins with a polished texture and a sleek, flavorful finish. Drink or hold.
