Domaine du Gros' Nore Bandol Cuvee Antoinette 2020
Domaine du Gros' Nore Bandol Cuvee Antoinette 2020
LIMITED
One of the rarest wines from the appellation, this is only the second time I have offered this wine in 7 years! Drink now if you dare, but I would age this for a while for it to settle down. If you do drink this now it should stay in drinking form for a few days.
Alain created this wine in homage to his mother Antoinette. Alain credits her as the person who gave him his taste for hard work. These wines resemble her in their finesse and power. This north-facing plot, along with its clay terroir, provides freshness and character that make it an exceptional wine. The vineyard overlooks his home village of La Cadière, so dear to he and his family's lives.
• 95% Mourvèdre, 5% Grenache/Cinsault, 45-year-old vines
• 1 hectare vineyard site, north facing and planted in well-ventilated clay soils on sunny hillsides, allowing for a later harvest than usual
• Grapes are partially de-stemmed
• Grapes are vinified separately
• Fermentation in stainless steel for 3 weeks, pump overs twice a day
• Aged in foudre for 18 months (large neutral French oak barrel)
