Take a little escape to the island of Corsica, the home of the one and only Napoleon Bonaparte. This is one of 2 amazing rose wines from Marquiliani.  Domaine Marquiliani is one of the top producers of wine (and olive oil & almonds) on the island and are a small family-owned and operated by Anne Amalric and her father Daniel who founded the modern history of this winery in the 1950s.

Our Tasting Note
A very pale copper/yellow color. Pretty and wispy notes of pink and red berries, elegant mandarin orange citrus, zest and oil, orange blossom, some salinity, a touch of spice from the dollop of syrah in the blend. As it always does, this unwinds in the glass and builds slowly with air. Elegant on the palate with flavors that whisper with intent and purity. Layered and refreshing, light as a feather, this always appeals to both sides of the pleasure dome, the intellectual and hedonistic side of my tastes. Uber pretty and classic Marquiliani!

Viticulture / Vinification

• 95% Sciaccarellu, 5% Syrah
• Slow fermentation from select parcels
• Juice obtained by direct press
• Pressed juice is decanted and undergoes 72 hour cold-soak! It is then is pulled from the cuve and fermented in stainless steel.
• 10 ha of vines in schist and granite gravel with silt soils
• Fermented in stainless and sees NO Malolactic fermentation - this helps maintain the freshness edge as this wine is generous texturally without that
