Sourced from 70-year-old vines, the 2023 Sancerre Rouge Le Chant de l'Archet is ripe with decent concentration. It offers ripe plum and cranberry fruit but retains its Loire lightness. The tannins are slippery with the texture of wet clay. - By Rebecca Gibb MW, August 2026

On the Reigny plateau with Kimmeridgian upper soils, there is the south-facing part on more calcareous land dedicated to whites and the part facing southwest on more clayey soil devoted to reds. Chant de l'Archet comes from this second part. It consists of two plots: the place called La Vallée de la Côte located in the mid-high part of the slope, providing freshness and salinity, and the place called La Panquenelle located in the mid-low part of the slope, offering richness and substance. Our work aims to be as respectful as possible to accurately convey the influence of the terroir on these old vines. For 20 months, the wine will grow in barrels and then in tank to develop its expression and ensure good aging in your cellars.
