2020 Meursault 'Bois de Blagny' $114.99
Domaine Comtesse de Cherisey
"Laurent Martelet presides over this discrete domaine, located in the tiny hamlet of Blagny, high on the slope between Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault, an address that must rank among the most underrated sources for fine white Burgundy in the contemporary Côte de Beaune." - William Kelley, Robert Parker Wine Advocate
87-89pts for the 2019 (not the 2020 here) for comparison's sake
The 2019 Meursault Bois de Blagny comes from some of the highest-altitude and steepest vineyards and is matured both in stainless steel and in wood, the latter being used for the oldest vines. It has a gentle, lilting bouquet of squeezed lime and light citrus fruit. The palate is nicely balanced with lemon sherbet on the entry and light tropical tones. Fresh and easygoing on the finish. Fine.
