Sourced from Viñedo de Rebilla, planted in 1920, this is a field blend of seven white varieties, dominated by Cariñena Blanca and Viura. Creamy, leesy and textured, with a hint of colour, negligible oak, a hint of struck match reduction and a long, mineral-etched finish. 2022-28.

Our Take: The 2018 Fidel Blanco is a layered, characterful white, opening with yellow plum, ripe vineyard peach and quince, followed by notes of freshly baked brioche, white pepper and subtle smoke. The palate is broad and waxy, with flavors of apricot, pineapple and ripe citrus woven through a creamy, lees-driven texture. Hints of toasted pastry, spice and fresh tobacco add depth without overwhelming the fruit, while a firm mineral backbone and lingering notes of citrus peel and aromatic herbs bring the wine into focus on the finish. Rich and generous, but well balanced, this is a distinctive Rioja Alavesa white that marries old-vine complexity with freshness and structure.

Tierra: This is a pago wine coming from one of our oldest plot we have in the area of “Revilla” which was planted in 1925 with 7 different White grapes. Harvested by hand and collection in 14kgs plastic-crates.

Winemaking: Grapes are brought to the winery in small crates, sorted and destemmed prior to fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Moved to 225 liter barrels made with American oak staves and French oak heads for four months. Daily bâtonnage on lees adds great structure and complexity.

Varietals: 20% Garnacha Blanca, 20% Viura, 20% Malvasía, 40% Otras.
