"Raised mostly in stainless steel, but 20% in neutral French oak and a splash in 5% cement, the 2023 Chenin Blanc displays a bright yellow/silver hue and is floral and dewy, with fresh aromas of white blossoms, baby powder, starfruit, and candied citrus. Medium-bodied, it’s bright through the finish, with an elegant, linear, and weightless feel. It’s really pretty and never feels austere. Coming from vines planted in the 1940s, this is a very appealing wine to drink over the next 6-8 years. (AF)"

The 2023 Chenin Blanc was matured for six months mainly in stainless steel and 20% used French oak. It has bright aromas of white peach, kiwi, candle wax, floral perfume and flinty streaks. The light-bodied palate is pure and refreshing with gently flinty flavors and a candle smoke-laced finish. 5,995 cases produced.

Vineyard: These heritage grapes from the Clarksburg vineyard benefit from naturally warm days and brisk, cool nights made possible by the “Delta Breeze” from the San Francisco Bay. These temperature gusts help create a long growing season and beautifully developed fruit.
Soils: Silty Clay The soils are rich, silty clay loam in a delta-like climate. This composition assists with nutrient uptake and waterholding capacity. The inclusion of silt helps with water retention.
