The 2020 DiPalermo Pinot Noir from Mt. Carmel Vineyard, located in the Sta. Rita Hills of California’s Central Coast, offers a unique expression of terroir and winemaking passion. Crafted with care, this wine reflects the distinctive character of its vineyard's microclimate and soil composition, resulting in a balanced and elegant Pinot Noir.
Composition: 100% Pinot Noir. The vines are planted in a cool climate region with clay and limestone soils, which enhances the wine’s complexity and depth.
Winemaking: The grapes undergo a gentle fermentation process, utilizing natural yeasts to preserve the pure essence of the fruit.
Aging: Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months, allowing the wine to develop rich flavors and a smooth texture.
Wine Enthusiast (93): Restrained aromas of cherry, loam and damp wild herb align on the nose of this bottling from an iconic vineyard in the mountainous heart of the appellation. A leathery tension and brisk acidity weave through the cranberry, sour cherry and subtle dried-beef flavors of the palate.
