The 2021 Sorella is youthfully coy yet remarkably pretty, mixing dried cherries with rosemary, white pepper, stone dust and hints of cinnamon. It is a model of balance, vibrant and lively within, with tart raspberry and wild berries elevated by a tinge of citrus-laced dark chocolate. The finish is dramatically long and staining yet still fresh, leaving sweet tannins and an air of autumnal spice. While geared toward the cellar, there is no harm in checking in on the Sorella today.

The 2021 Sorella from the Champoux Vineyard is composed of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, matured for 24 months in 30% new French oak. It has pretty aromas of blueberry jam and cassis plus nuances of peppermint patty, violet, aniseed and graphite. The full-bodied palate is elegantly styled with Goldilocks ripeness, soft, powdery tannins, juicy acidity and a long, layered finish.
