The NV Brut Rosé No 3 Grand Cru is a pure Bouzy Pinot Noir that gets its beautiful intense onion-skin color from the addition of 8% red wine. The nose is rich and complex but at the same time pure and refined, with a nice chalky layer and vinous fruit intensity. Round and rich but fresh and vital on the pure and elegant palate, this is a full-bodied, pretty intense and persistent rosé to be served with main courses. This rosé is seriously complex and expressive, with grip, tension and a long finish. Remarkable in class and style. (4/2021) "Standing, the men raised a toast to the Queen and Andre Clouet proclaimed: 'This is how we perfect Pinot Noir in Champagne! Now the Burgundians will just have to deal with it!'"
Variety: 100% Pinot Noir
Vineyards: Estate vineyards surrounding the village of Bouzy. Chalk and Clay soils.
Winemaking: Fermentation & aging in Stainless Steel. 10% still red Pinot Noir blended into Blanc de Noirs base.
Dosage: 6g/L
Composed of 100% Pinot noir from the Grand Cru villages of Bouzy and Ambonnay in the Grande Montagne de Reims (Pinot noir’s spiritual homeland in Champagne). Each release is designated a number to denote the variations in color and style that occur with each vintage—here, No.3 reflects a light, fresh and elegant aperitif-style champagne rosé. Produced from 50% of the current vintage, and 50% reserve wine from a solera of 10 vintages, Rosé No.3 is also blended with 10% of still red wine from Bouzy. The result: a well-structured and focused champagne rosé that yields a generosity of Pinot noir character, a gorgeous hue, and a fine, bright finish.
