90pts Wine Advocate
A barrel-fermented blend of Grenache Blanc (40%), Roussanne (40%) and Macabeu (20%), the 2021 Cotes du Roussillon Vieilles Vignes Blanc (or Old Vines White, as it is labeled for the United States) is another successful vintage, being quite lean and refreshing, loaded with notes of underripe melon and fresh lime, and finishing crisp and clean.

First selection as the bunches are cut, and second sorting of grapes at the cellar door. Cold maceration. The alcoholic fermentation is kept at 16°C to maximize the fruit expression. Grenache was aged 5 months in concrete, Roussanne spent 5 months in French oak barrels. Bottling in December. Vineyards/Region The Saint-Roch vineyard is in the heart of Roussillon, south of France, close to the Spanish border. Halfway between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea, the Queribus Cathar castle, set on a steep cliff, overlooks the valley and the mosaic of our vineyard. High Environmental Value Level 3 vineyard. Sustainable, low-impact farming. Bush vines, dry grown. Yield: 40 hl/ha. Stony, black schist soil, with loam, in the Agly Valley. Vine age: 30-70 years.

60% Grenache Blanc, 40% Roussanne
