Collazzi Toscano Rosso 2021
Collazzi Toscano Rosso 2021
Villa Collazzi, a historic Tuscan estate originally designed by Michelangelo, stands as a testament to artistry and legacy in winemaking. Nestled on a hill near Florence, the estate boasts vineyards with optimal south-westerly exposure, a terroir rich in clay, sand, limestone, and abundant rocks. This gives the Collazzi 2021 vintage its elegant and authentic Tuscan expression. The season's mild winter and hot summer, followed by an ideal ripening period, resulted in grapes of exceptional quality. The wine reveals an intense red color, with a nose offering spicy balsamic notes and ripe black fruit. Its palate is silky and persuasive, with an enveloping texture, roundness, and elegance, leading to a fresh and long-lasting aftertaste.
Composition: Various grape varietals hand-harvested to preserve unique characteristics. Vine age and soil type ensure a perfect habitat for grape cultivation.
Winemaking: Fermentation occurs in small stainless steel barrels, with each variety vinified separately under the meticulous guidance of winemaker Alberto Torelli.
Aging: The wine undergoes 18 months of aging in new 225-liter French oak barrels, bestowing it with a silky, persuasive character.
