Macerated cherry, leather, cedar and pipe tobacco are front and center in this racy offering from Caparsa and proprietor Paolo Cianferoni.

Proprietor Paolo Cianferoni represents the core values of the artisan tradition in Chianti Classico. His Chianti Classico Annata is consistently outstanding. The 2022 Gran Selezione Doccio a Matteo, formerly a Riserva, is one of the most complete wines of this very challenging growing season. Mimma, 100% Sangiovese done with a touch of whole clusters, shows a different but equally compelling side of Radda.
Our Tasting Note
Fresh and dusty red cherry, plum, spices, florals, very pretty and perfumed. The palate is on the fuller side of medium bodied, med+ acidity and tannins. The palate has excellent intensity, youthful, bright, structured and fresh. Med+ finish is a little tight.
Importer: 2022: A wine of great drinkability, with intense, savory fruit. Marked aromas of violets. Matured in concrete tanks, it is in no way affected by influences of wooden containers and keeps alive that authentic terroir typical of Caparsa wines.

Aging: Cement vats for two years
Fermentation: spontaneous, with indigenous yeasts.
