Medium+ lemon yellow, excellent thick mousse, tiny persistent bubbles. The nose is pronounced, rich, with pastry notes of almond and orange zest, plus sweet lemon citrus and red apple, subtle toasty notes then go fresh and mineral.  The palate is med/med+, as is the acidity, while the flavors explode on the palate with depth and energy, the primary and tertiary flavors dueling it out.  Excellent into the fresh and generous finish!

The Chardonnay Millésimé is 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay. The core of the cuvée is made up of three vineyards with very old vines in Cramant and Avize. The first is a parcel of 50 ares in Avize: part of which is 30 years old and part of which is more than century old, planted by the grandfather of the 81-year-old gentleman, Patrick, who purchased the vineyard from in 1989. The second parcel, planted in 1937, is in Cramant and belonged to Patrick’s paternal grandfather. A third parcel is on the border of Cramant and Avize: two of the most assertive terroirs in the Côte des Blancs giving very saline and mineral wines. ~Importer
