Bright red. High-pitched aromas of raspberry, red cherry, fresh herbs, flowers and pungent spices. Juicy, bright and firm-edged in a 2021 way, with racy acids and a mineral spine that nicely frame the crisp, juicy red fruit and floral flavours. Finishes gently tannic and very precise. This food-friendly Brunello will win a lot of fans. Drinking window: 2029-2039. (Dec 2025)

The classy 2021 Brunello from Caprili has great aromatics that include violet, new leather, camphor and dark spice. Smooth and enveloping, the juicy, generous palate offers baked plum, ripe raspberry, cake spice and licorice set against velvety tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced. Drink: 2028–2039. (Nov 2025)

The 2021 Brunello di Montalcino unfolds a darkly alluring bouquet of crushed raspberries, dried violets and nuances of ginger and sage. It is mineral-intense with an attractive stony character. A silken wave of ripe red and black berry fruits slowly saturates, and a licorice tinge emerges. Hulking tannins frame the finish without slowing its momentum as a twang of citrus adds lively form. This dark beast will require patience but will also reward it. Drink: 2028-2046. (Nov 2025)

Ripe aromas and flavors of plum, black cherry and black currant are shaded with iron, earth and eucalyptus notes in this savory red. There are assertive tannins that leave a solid grip on the finish, where the lasting impression is ripe fruit. Best from 2029 through 2045. (3/11/26)

Pouring a youthful ruby red hue, the 2021 Brunello Di Montalcino opens with ripe notes of cherry liqueur, pressed roses, mossy earth, and sweet Mediterranean herbs. As it sits in the glass, a touch of saddle leather and more savory depth begins to emerge. Medium to full-bodied, it has ripe, well-defined tannins and a bright spine of acidity, with a lightly sanguine, iron-tinged finish. Drink this vibrant, classic effort over the coming decade or more. Drink: 2026-2038. (Feb 2026)
