The 2021 Champoux Red Wine is a deeply sensual experience with a complex bouquet of exotic spices, dusty rose, violet, plums, blackberries and sage. It washes across the palate like pure energy, with a peppery flourish complicating its depths of dark red fruit, while hints of sour citrus add contrast. Graphite mineral tones linger long as it finishes structured and refined, leaving a tart raspberry twang. This is undoubtedly the most captivating Champoux I've yet tasted from Andrew Will, and I’m happy to award it an upgrade.

The 2021 Champoux Vineyard is composed of 56% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc and 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, matured for 24 months in 30% new French oak. It bursts from the glass with expressive blackcurrant, bell pepper, licorice, savory herbs, iron and violet. The full-bodied palate balances waves of dark, briary fruit with abundant, powdery tannins and fireworks of fresh acidity, and it has a very long, layered finish.
