With this wine, we honor the remarkable people who have helped shape our lives with love and support. In 2012, our dear friends Sue and Andy Steinman joined us as partners, enabling our winery to spread its wings and fly. Cuvée Ruth honors Sue's mother, Ruth, and her husband, Irv Kantor, as a heartfelt tribute. It embodies our profound gratitude for Sue and Andy’s unwavering belief in Walter Scott.

Each year, we create this special blend to capture the precision and tension unique to the Eola-Amity Hills, while also reflecting the distinct character of the vintage. Our 2024 Cuvée Ruth is a barrel selection from our best Pinot noir vineyards, sharing our vision of Willamette Valley Pinot noir through the lens of the Eola-Amity Hills

The 2024 Cuvée Ruth opens with savory aromatics of pine, mint, and fennel frond. On the palate, bright notes of cranberry and currant are woven with crushed slate, bringing precision and energy. A wine of drive and focus, it finishes with vibrant lift and lingering minerality.

Vineyard Notes:
Each year we blend this very special wine to reflect the precision and tension of Pinot Noir from the Eola-Amity Hills, while also showing the character of the individual vintage. With the 2022 Cuvée Ruth, we chose a selection of barrels from some of our best vineyards in the Eola-Amity Hills to make up this wine, including Justice, Koosah, Sojeau, Temperance Hill, Witness Tree, Bracken & X Novo Vineyards.

These iconic vineyards are a blend of multiple clones of Pinot Noir and some of our oldest vines, allowing the wine to demonstrate a refined purity associated with classic Eola-Amity Hills. Production notes:
The wine was fermented with ambient yeasts and aged for 10 months in French oak barrels. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
