Tom's Tasting Notes: Med- gold, youthful color.  A pronounced nose of yellow apple, honeydew melon, and apricots, salty and waxy tertiary notes with highlights of white florals like orange blossoms.  Medium body, med/med+ acidity, a roundness and waxiness to the texture, but with verve and energy embedded within.  Pronounced and fresh flavor intensity draws to a long, fresh finish with a broad fruit finish underpinned by a nice thread of mineral salinity.  Very good day 1, even better day 2 so give this some air when you open it.

Produced with Alvarinho grapes from high-altitude vineyards, the 2024 Génese fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts, with 50% of the volume put through malolactic fermentation and 20% of the volume spending two months in mixed barrels built with chestnut and oak wood, with a total aging time of seven months. It has a pale color and a young profile that's undeveloped, with some waxy/lanolin notes—waxy apples?—a floral touch and notes of fresh herbs. It has contained ripeness, 12.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.36 and 5.4 grams of acidity and a medium-bodied palate with a tender mouthfeel. 20,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2025.

The project from father and son Luís and Manuel Cerdeira has finally been baptized as Vinevinu, from the vineyard to the wine. The project was born in the 2024 vintage after many years at the family winery, Soalheiro. They already have nine different wines and control 34 hectares of vineyards. Production is 120,000 bottles.

In 2024, they began the harvest on September 2nd in Famalicão, on September 14th in Paredes de Coura and on September 18th in Melgaço, only in high-altitude vineyards. It was a classic year with a good balance between elegance, acidity and complexity in the wines.

In 2025, they began the harvest on August 25th in Famalicão and the Vale region in Melgaço, on September 9th in Paredes de Coura and on September 16th in Melgaço in the high-altitude vineyards. It was an irregular year but with stable weather during ripening, and the earlier harvest allowed for increased verticality and precision in the wines.

Vinevinu: Father and son duo unite with a shared vision: to preserve the winemaking tradition of the Minho while incorporating innovation and creativity.
