The 2023 Las Umbrías goes back to the ethereal profile of the cooler years, a wine of tension and fine-grained tannins. It rained during the flowering, and the yields were lower. It has a pale and bright ruby color and a nuanced nose, open, expressive and clean, with some notes of soy sauce intermixed with aromas of wild herbs and flowers (violets). The palate has the ethereal character and the energy of an iron fist in a velvet glove. It's super tasty and makes you salivate. 1,722 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2025.

Overview: The only Grand Cru in the range that faces east rather than north, so the fruit ripens under morning sun and is spared the worst of the afternoon — and it shows as the most delicate and floral wine Comando G makes. Iron is the dominant element in this granite, with patches of red clay none of the other parcels have. Remarkably pale in the glass; violets, wild herbs and a savoury, almost soy-like umami edge; fine-grained tannin and mineral acidity carrying an almost weightless palate a very long way indeed.
