Evident by what we tasted, this 3rd wine is given the same care and winemaking treatments of the grand vin!  This is a selection of the younger vines on the property and barrels that do not make the cut in the grand vin or the second wine "La Sirene".  Drink now Bordeaux does not get much better from what we have tasted of late.  This is something there needs to be MORE of in Bordeaux to bring to the greatness of what Bordeaux can be the younger generations of wine drinkers or for the collector to drink while the grand vin ages in the cellar.

Drinking Window 2024 - 2030

The 2020 Haut-Médoc Giscours is a very pretty wine. It emerges from a 60-hectare holding between Giscours and Cantemerle. Bright, aromatic and medium in body, the Haut-Médoc Giscours is an absolute delight. Freshly cut flowers, mint, red berry fruit and herbs are finely cut in this nuanced, salivating red. Lively acids round out the finish. I imagine this will age exquisitely, but I would also give it a year or two in bottle to soften a bit. The blend is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot.

Our Tasting Note:

Deep ruby red. Vibrant edges. Juicy, briary, currants, cherries, black raspberry, subtle herbs and pain grille, subtle notes of mocha and toast, amazing for no new oak. Supple, finessed tannins, medium, juicy acidity keeps things lively and fresh. Med+ elegant and persistent finish. Used barriques for aging.  HARD TO RESIST!

Winemaking:   Optical and manual sorting Concrete and stainless-steel tanks Maceration 30 days at 26°C 12 months of ageing in barrels. Haut-Médoc Giscours has been elaborated from the historical Giscours’ Haut-Medoc appellation vines (60 ha in total). Since its creation, in 1992, this wine is vinified by our teams with the same care that leads the elaboration of our grand cru classé, Château Giscours.
