The 2022 Marquis de Pennautier Chardonnay Terroirs d'Altitude from the Vin de Pays d'Oc region of France is a testament to the unique terroirs of Languedoc Roussillon. This Chardonnay is noted for its mineral-rich profile with hints of kiwi, green apple, and a subtle touch of toast. The wine pairs excellently with seafood dishes, such as jumbo lump blue crab and sweet corn custard.
Composition: 100% Chardonnay. The vines are planted on limestone and clay soils, contributing to the wine's mineral character.
Winemaking: The grapes undergo a careful selection process followed by a temperature-controlled fermentation to preserve the varietal's natural flavors.
Aging: Aged on fine lees for a period to enhance complexity and mouthfeel.
James Suckling (88): A linear, fruity and mellow chardonnay. The nose proposes aromas of apples, vanilla and some custard. It’s medium-bodied with a linear development on the palate. More apple and vanilla character to the finish. Drink now.
