The NV Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs L'Échappée Belle, a pure Chardonnay harvested in Montgenost, Bisseuil, Grauves and Avize across Champagne, opens with an appetizing nose of pure yellow apple flesh, ripe yet crisp, reminiscent of Golden Delicious. The palate mirrors this fruitiness and crispness, supported by creamy mousse and fine concentration. Brightness and freshness define its aromatic quality and purity, making it stand out. Dosage is 4 grams per liter. Disgorged: May 2024.

'L’Echappée Belle' translates to 'The Great Escape.' 70% of the base wine comes from one vintage and 30% from reserve wines. Vineyard sources are a majority from the 1er Cru village of Grauves in the Cote des Blancs, known for its cooler microclimate, plus some from the Côte de Sézanne and the Marne. The Grauves vineyards were planted by Etienne’s grandparents, who are both from the village. The perpetual reserve wine for this cuvée goes back to 2011.
