Our Tasting Note
Michael explains that this one off, special wine, is the same source as the Ultramarine wines. Medium-gold color, med/med+ mousse thickness.  The nose is medium+ with citrus, chalky, mineral, saline and light ginger oxidative notes, white floral blossoms, and a very pleasant bitterness like a citrus rind, very light a subtle yeasty lees notes.  The palate is medium bodied, with a medium mousse, med+ acidity, medium+ flavors, the palate is fresh, chalky, and linear with a long, fresh, and very familiar profile to the Ultramarine Blanc des Noirs from the same vineyard.  Not to mention it’s a dead ringer for a slightly oxidative style champagne that has the slightest hints of lees aging at this point.

Varietals:  100% Pinot Noir
Vinification The grapes were pressed using a traditional Champagne cycle and press cut. Aged in 50% new Stockinger puncheons and topped only once early on in the élevage.
Aging:  Almost 36 months (THREE YEARS) on lees, the bottles were riddled and disgorged with 0 g/L dosage. Pressure: 5.5 bar
Vineyards The Cruse Tradition Rose is a sourced from several sites including Rorick Heritage Vineyard high in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, Alder Springs from Mendocino County, Keefer Ranch in Sonoma, and a small amount of wine for Linda Vista in Napa.
Viticulture:  Farmed using sustainable and organic methods.
