Tasted as a barrel sample, the 2023 Chardonnay Durant Vineyard is lifted at this early stage with reduction that’s well-balanced and will take time to develop. However, it shows lots of potential for longevity. It has bright, savory lift with notes of salted pineapple and yellow flowers, and it’s packed with the mineral intensity of salty earth. Medium-bodied, it’s going to be one to stash away and let flesh out, with pretty, more custardy undertones hiding in the background at this stage.

The 2023 Chardonnay Durant Vineyard is dreamy, with a sweet whiff of chamomile, mint and freshly sliced green melon. It delights with soothingly rounded textures and purity, featuring vividly ripe yellow apples and nuances of gingery spice. Crisp acidity maintains a wonderfully fresh sensation, with mineral tones that linger. This is remarkably pretty yet deeply complex as well. What a beauty. - By Eric Guido on July 2025
