A layered and expressive Riserva, opening with ripe red cherry, dried rose, and sweet spice, underscored by tobacco and balsamic lift. The palate is dense yet vibrant, with polished tannins and incisive acidity driving a long, savory finish marked by pepper and mineral tension.

The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Bramante Riserva temps the imagination with its hauntingly dark bouquet, as a dusting of exotic spice and nuances of shaved cedar give way to dried black cherries, flowery underbrush and a whiff of camphor. This sweeps across the palate with textures of pure silk, cool-toned and elegant in style. A core of saline minerals mixes with brisk acidity, adding youthful tension toward the close. Complete and harmonious, the 2019 leaves a staining of licorice and a tart cranberry concentration, all framed by sweet tannins. Despite its embryonic state, I could sit with this for hours. - By Eric Guido on December 2024
The Bramante Riserva cuvee is made in memory of Luciano’s grandfather Bramante Ferretti, founder of Sanlorenzo, who was born and lived in Montalcino. 03 May 1915 – 29 October 2016. Tiny production that varies from 1300/2600 bottles.
2019 was an exceptional harvest both in quantity and quality. A moderately rainy winter was followed by a warm and dry March and April; the vines sprouted well and grew quickly. May was very rainy and the plants slowed their growth, then in June there was a decisive change in direction with two dry and warm months. As a result, the grapes grew well and on time, with the beginning of veraison in the first days of August and finishing by the end of August. The September climate, warm but not too much with some rain, contributed to good ripening. The harvest took place on October 5th and 6th.
