Vajra Barolo Ravera 2022 - 1.5L
Vajra Barolo Ravera 2022 - 1.5L
In this vintage, this bottling has to represent one of the highest quality to price ratios in we’ve seen in quite some time for any Barolo! Ravera is the most important single vineyard in Comune di Novello, located on the south-west quadrant of the Barolo area.

The 2022 Barolo Ravera pours a bright medium red color and was bottled the same day as the Coste di Rose. The nose shows more depth and takes time to open, revealing notes of fresh cherries, graphite, and iron. On the palate, it has broader shoulders and firmer tannins, with greater mineral depth and richness. Drink 2026-2046.

Tea, hibiscus, orange rind, sandalwood and dried flowers. Really aromatic and absorbing. Medium-bodied, with a transparent, ethereal sense of fruit and a backbone of tannins that gives definition all the way to the end. Unique balance, from the famed vineyard in Novello. Better from 2029.
Ravera Cru
Ravera is the most important single vineyard in Comune di Novello, located on the south-west quadrant of the Barolo area. This site has a very complex subsoil where marls of Tortonian origin mix with clays and sandstones of the Serravallian period. Vajra's parcels are located in the most southern amphitheater, between 320 and 340 meters. This is a terroir that delivers bright aromatics and unrestrained power with 2015 adding beautiful textures and richness. Ravera is usually picked right at the middle of the Nebbiolo harvest, usually in the second or third week of October. Grapes are sorted manually three times: directly on the vine, as whole clusters on the sorting tables, and lastly as single berries after destemming. Vinification is made in custom-designed vertical tini, with gentle punch down and rinsing of the cap. Barolo DOCG Ravera is aged for average of 26-34 months in large Slavonian casks prior to bottling.
