We are excited for this special opportunity to pour and explain these amazing wines to you with the importer and us Riesling fan boys!
Demand for Falkenstein continues to climb and is easily the strongest I've ever seen. In fact, I receive more inquiries about these wines than any other Riesling we sell. Despite that, pricing has remained remarkably restrained. Most wines saw either no increase or only a modest bump, which is astonishing considering the growing international demand. I still believe these wines have plenty of room to appreciate in price over the coming years, but thankfully they remain one of the greatest values in the wine world.
To put it in perspective, the cost of a single bottle of Keller GG or Egon Müller is roughly the same as seven to ten bottles of Falkenstein. That's not to diminish those legendary producers, but rather to highlight just how extraordinary Falkenstein's value proposition remains. For the quality, individuality, and sheer brilliance in the glass, I can't think of another wine region in the world offering more for the money.
THE WINES*
We’re thrilled to have the AP-12 Kugel Peter back this year after receiving none in 2024. Last year, the Fuder 22 Mia (AP-22) was so scarce that we had to allocate it bottle by bottle. I expect it to be one of the most sought-after wines again this year, although the larger 2025 harvest should mean slightly better availability than the tiny 2024 vintage.

As I’ve said since I had started selling these wines 7 years ago, I believe the greatest Riesling value in the world comes from this tiny estate: Hofgut Falkenstein.
Mosel Fine Wines Summed it up quite remarkable: "The top wines shine through great finesse, aromatic presence, and elegance...and those fortunate enough to lay their hands on (them)...are in for a feast for the senses. They are among the finest ever at this Estate!
2025 delivered a more typical and powerful set of wines ala 2019-2020-2022 as the year was warm and dry. Volumes are not huge but healthy, thus why we are able to have a tasting of these wines this year!
If you are new to Falkenstein, they sit in the Saar, the coolest and most electrifying corner of the Mosel. If you have yet to discover what makes these wines so special, well it starts here: mind-bending complexity, razor-sharp precision, unmistakable Saar character, and an almost unbelievable ability to deliver all of it at modest prices. These are cerebral, delicious, utterly distinctive Rieslings, and this tasting is one of the few in the country that will happen so not this is very special and rare opportunity!
The wines will range from bone dry razor cutting fresh to slightly off dry, no sugary sweet Riesling here for this event! The rose of Pinot Noir and the Pinot Noir itself (aka Spatburgunder in German) are unlike anything you have had before from this grape!
