Drinking Window 2025 - 2029 From: Abruzzo Weathers the Storm: Surviving the 2023 and 2024 Vintages (May 2025) The 2024 Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Superiore Villa Gemma is perfumed from start to finish, wafting up with violet and rose tones before focusing deeper on a crushed white strawberry aroma. This is round and soft with a core of ripe red berry fruits propelled by tantalizing acidity. Its minerality comes through on the finish, leaving a pleasant inner sweetness and nuances of mint. - By Eric Guido on May 2025

Perhaps Italy’s greatest rosé appellation—and one of the country’s few regions devoted exclusively to rosé—Cerasuolo has long been known for producing serious, age-worthy wines that highlight the Montepulciano grape at its best. Masciarelli released its first Cerasuolo in 1986, just five years after the winery was founded. Richly textured and deeply fruited yet vibrant and approachable, it’s a rosé with the structure and character to shine at the dinner table.
