Yann Bertrand Morgon 'Iron' 2024
Yann Bertrand Morgon 'Iron' 2024
New to us this year, this was such a cool wine to try as the iron soils really came through on the palate as the minerality had a sappy, fresh, and more high-toned style, as red soil wines tend to do!
Our Tasting Note: Bright, lifted Gamay with aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, and crushed violets over a subtle ferrous minerality. The palate is sleek and vibrant—lively red fruit framed by fine tannins and a stony, iron-tinged edge that gives precision and drive. Medium-bodied, tense, and pure, it finishes long and savory with a mineral snap. A finely etched, energetic Morgon that captures both fruit and soil with clarity. Drink now or over the next 5–8 years.
