Altos Las Hormigas Tinto 2023 is a testament to the vineyard's resilience and dedication to quality winemaking, despite the challenging weather conditions of the vintage. Nestled in the renowned regions of Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley, this wine captures the essence of Mendoza's semi-desert climate, characterized by hot days and cool nights. The unique terroir, with its fresh soils and excellent water drainage, supports the deep root development necessary for the vines' strength and longevity. This blend offers a vibrant expression with a complex interplay of flavors, delivering concentration, verticality, and texture.
Composition: A blend of Malbec, Bonarda, and Semillon grapes, primarily from Luján de Cuyo and Medrano. Vine age and soil type are integral in enhancing the wine's character.
Winemaking: Malbec and Semillon are co-fermented to intensify acidity and complexity, while Bonarda is vinified separately. Indigenous yeasts facilitate fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 24-26°C for 10 days.
Aging: The wine is aged for a minimum of 9 months in concrete vats, eschewing oak to preserve freshness.
