Drinking Window 2025 – 2032
The 2018 Valpolicella Classico Superiore pulls the taster close to the glass with a darkly alluring blend of dried roses, violets, crushed stone, clove and blood orange. It washes across the palate with silken textures, lifted and finessed in the style of the vintage, as ripe wildberry fruits swirl beneath an air of sweet lavender. The word ethereal comes to mind as the 2018 tapers off with sweet tannins that provide a lovely framework to perfumed inner florals and hints of blackberry that resonate. - By Eric Guido on September 2025

This wine begins with grapes pressed immediately after harvest, preserving freshness and varietal character. Following three to four days of maceration, primary fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts. After initial racking, the wine rests until February, when it undergoes a second alcoholic fermentation on the Amarone lees—a traditional ripasso technique that adds depth, structure, and complexity. It is then aged for seven years in large Slavonian oak barrels, developing the estate’s signature balance of power and elegance. Crafted from 30-year-old vines planted in limestone and basalt soils across 11 hectares, the blend consists of 55% Corvina and Corvinone, 30% Rondinella, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Nebbiolo, Croatina, and Sangiovese, resulting in a wine of layered fruit, supple spice, and harmonious texture.
