"Delicate, vibrant aromas of pear and white peach mingled with spring blossoms introduce the 2024 Vouvray Le Mont Sec. Medium- to full-bodied, it is both dense and lively, built around a fleshy core of fruit, bright acidity and a slightly incisive texture that carries through to a long, ethereal and finely saline finish. Purer and more mineral than Clos du Bourg, this is a crystalline expression of Vouvray—even within the framework of this challenging vintage. Residual sugar: 7.5 grams per liter. Drink: 2025-2045 (Oct 2025)"

"A silky, streamlined beam of green plum, star fruit and pear blossoms is dusted with green herbs. Salty density builds, with the purity of fruit bolstered by succulent acidity and chalky mineral notes. Floral high tones grace the finish, which shows precision and focus. Beautiful now but a bit tightly wound; this will taste better with time in bottle. Drink now through 2035. (11/30/25)"
The One for the Cellar Vineyard
Le Mont, which was acquired in 1957, has a greenish-yellow clay soil with flint scattered throughout, making it a cooler site. It is picked the latest and takes time to come around in the bottle. - Vinous Media
Winemaking: Harvest is by hand, and occurs over 2-3 successive passes (“tries”) through the vineyards. Intact bunches are pressed into a 50/50 mix of tanks and old demi-muids, where alcoholic fermentation proceeds naturally with indigenous yeasts. When their alcoholic fermentations conclude, the wines are racked into old barrels where they spend the winter before bottling in April. Malolactic fermentation is neither encouraged nor discouraged.
Soils/Vineyards: The Côte’s limestone-rich clay soils yield wines of intensity and great longevity
