Wrath San Saba Vineyard Syrah 2019
Wine Enthusiast (92): Pleasantly funky aromas of toasted nori and iodine mix with cracked pepper and dense berry plum paste on the nose of this single-vineyard expression. The cool-climate cracked pepper flavor is very powerful on the palate, spicing up what mulberry, plum and roasted fig flavors, with charred meat lingering deep into the finish. Matt Kettmann
Robert Parker The Wine Advocate (95): When to drink:2023 to 2033
Wine Enthusiast (95): This vineyard sits just outside of the Santa Lucia Highlands, but is actually closer to the coast than much of that appellation, which makes for attention-grabbing, cool-climate wines. Dark in the glass, this bottling begins with rich blackberry, nori wrap, dewy bay leaf and green peppercorn aromas. The palate shows the same, with rugged meat and underripe plum flavors as well.
