Domaine Lafage 'Centenaire' Blanc 2022 is a celebrated white wine hailing from the renowned Languedoc-Roussillon region. This wine embodies the essence of the region's rich terroir, offering a harmonious blend of flavors and aromas that reflect the vineyard's unique microclimate and winemaking philosophy.
Composition: Varietals include Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Marsanne. The vines are rooted in sandy and alluvial soils, contributing to the wine's distinctive mineral notes.
Winemaking: The fermentation process is carefully monitored to enhance the wine's natural aromatic profile.
Aging: Aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and vibrant flavors.
Bacchus Magazine (91): At the heart of Roussillon, the southernmost point of France, in a Catalan 'Mas' with old stones, Domaine Lafage overlooks the road connecting Perpignan to the Mediterranean coast. After 7 generations of winemakers, Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage took over the entire family estate in 2001, and they have taken on the challenge of offering the best of their know-how, from vine cultivation to bottling. Thus, this 'Centenaire' cuvée, made from century-old vines, reveals a complex bouquet evoking citrus fruits, apples, and pears, grafted onto floral notes and gunflint, intertwined with touches of vanilla. Superb persistence in the mouth, with roundness, richness, amplitude, and a pleasant liveliness that harmonizes the whole. It's a celebration of the senses and a very beautiful gastronomic wine! Serve at 12 °C. Pure happiness with fish carpaccio, ceviche, gratin dauphinois, butter chicken, teriyaki salmon, veal blanquette, tartiflette, or pork loin with apples.
