92 Wine Advocate (2022 review)
Matured in barrel for 10 months, the 2022 Sancerre Les Boucauds reveals a delicate, pure bouquet of pear, peach, spring flowers, spices and menthol, followed by a moderately weighted, textured and layered palate with bright acids, a lively, fleshy core of fruit and a long, ethereal, mineral-laced finish enhanced by a saline aftertaste. This is a gorgeous rendition of the eponymous parcel composed of clay, limestone and marls.
92 Vinous Media (2022 review)
The 2022 Les Boucauds is a stylish wine. Considering the warm vintage, it's well proportioned and keeps its shape thanks to both no malo and perhaps the lengthy aging in the winery. The oak is a little present at first, but a little more time in bottle will help. It has good substance on the mid-palate and will improve over the coming two to five years.
Terroir 1: Terres Blanches (aka Kimmeridgian)
Sourced from 10-50-year-old vines from a few plots in the Les Boucauds lieu-dit. This cuvée employs close to 50% of the Sauvignon Blanc planted on the estate. Entirely from Terres Blanches soils – marls and clays over Kimmeridgian limestone – this wine represents a pure expression of this site. Fermented and aged on the lees in 50% steel and 50% neutral French oak 600L barrels (7-8 months).
