Our Tasting Note
100% Grenache. A light med- ruby color. A pronounced nose of juicy red cherry, strawberry-rhubarb, rose petals, and garrigue (herbs de provence). A medium body, with chewy, youthful tannins means this wine has some stuffing too. A pronounced palate and a cool, long finish that resonantes with red fruit and tannin. This is a delicious expression of 100% Grenache from a sandy parcel in Lirac from Chateauneuf producer Domaine Feraud.
*The Claux Guillard is not eligible for Lirac OR Côtes du Rhône designation because the only red varietal planted is Grenache. (Lirac and CDR require a blend). While the first vintage of Claux Guillard was 2020, Feraud attributes everything he is able to do with this wine so far to the great care Monsieur Guillard has taken over past 50+ years and thus named the wine after him.
