A walled monopole below Pommard village, this 45-year-old vine cuvée thrives on alluvial soils near the L’Avant Dheune river. Whole-cluster fermentation and 18 months in barrels (max 30% new) yield a structured yet elegant Pinot Noir with dark fruit, spice, and a long, complex finish.

Racked and sulphured two weeks ago. Mid crimson. There is an attractive savoury character alongside the rose petals. The fruit is very pretty on the palate as the roses come to the fore. Not obviously Pommard but a very attractive wine. Drink from 2027-2032. Tasted Oct 2023.
