The 2023 Côte-Rôtie Côte Brune marks nearly 50 years of this cuvée, first produced in 1975. Planted on highly degraded schist soils that tend to mitigate hydric stress, the site delivers a wine of remarkable depth. Opening with a complex bouquet of rose petals, lychee, dark berries and delicate floral nuances, it's medium- to full-bodied, dense and multidimensional, with a layered, enveloping core of fruit framed by mineral tension and finely structured tannins. At once powerful and ethereal, it combines depth with remarkable precision, concluding with lingering notes of fresh licorice. It's a profound and compelling expression of Côte Brune.
