Bright salmon pink. Lively aromas of fresh peach, pear, honeydew, tangerine and strawberry, backed by subtle floral and mineral nuances. Juicy, focused and light on its feet, offering surprisingly concentrated orchard and pit fruit and red berry flavors that are braced by a refreshingly bitter jolt of blood orange. This one has pretty much all the fruit bases covered, that's for sure. Concentrated yet lithe in character, with excellent closing focus and a suave floral quality arriving late.
Like his electric Chenin Blanc wines, the rose from Boudignon (Cabernet Franc based) is another excellent wine from this Loire Valley All-Star! Last year was the first time for this wine in NC and we have a great price at US LOW on bottle 1! Always one of the top rose wines from the Loire, this is a no-brainer to have a few chilled this summer! It will satisfy the wine-curious drinker as well as refresh the casual sipper. In other words, its staple rose that hits all the bases!
- Practicing biodynamic
- 90% Cabernet Franc, 10% Grolleau
- 30+ year old vines from Lys Haut Layon
- Shallow soils of grey schist and rhyolite (volcanic soil) and clay
