The Taurasi DOCG 2017 by Le Masciare is a testament to the rich winemaking heritage of Paternopoli, Italy. This wine showcases an intense ruby red color that evolves to a brick red with garnet reflections as it matures. Its bouquet is pronounced and complex, offering hints of cherry, forest fruit, and spicy scents of violet and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied with balanced tannins and acidity, culminating in a finish with notes of plums, black cherry, and black pepper.
Composition: 100% Aglianico grapes. Grown on clayey terrain with limestone deposits at a density of 3,500 plants per hectare.
Winemaking: Pre-fermentation maceration at cold temperatures for 2 days, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 15-16 days.
Aging: 18 months in steel tanks, 12 months in large French oak casks, and a minimum of 24 months in the bottle.
