Dalla Valle Collina 2022
Dalla Valle Collina 2022
Dalla Valle Vineyards overlooks the Napa Valley floor from a hillside terrace 400 feet above the Silverado Trail in Oakville. Since Gustav and Naoko Dalla Valle purchased the property in 1982 and began planting vines, the exceptional acreage has continually distinguished itself as the ideal site for producing some of the world’s finest wines, thanks to the perfect convergence of lingering sunlight, cooling marine influence and red volcanic soil.
The trio of estate wines produced by Dalla Valle Vineyards originates in specific vineyard blocks, imbuing each with a unique sense of place. The Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvignon, Maya and Collina Dalla Valle are all blended, in varying amounts, from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grown on the property.

So deep, rich and velvety in texture and nicely saturated in dark fruit and cocoa flavors. Plush, moderately tannic and full-bodied, with generous blackcurrant, black cherry and blueberry flavors with light oak spice accents. Made from 89% cabernet sauvignon and 11% cabernet franc. From biodynamically grown grapes.

The 2022 Collina Dalla Valle is juicy, open-knit and expressive, all of which make it a fine choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Maya and Naoko Dalla Valle crafted a gorgeous, beautifully balanced wine. Crushed red berry fruit, cinnamon, rose petal and licorice linger. What a delight. By Antonio Galloni on December 2024
