Just sniffing Caprili’s 2024 Rosso di Montalcino will put a smile on your face thanks to its ultra pretty aromas of lavender, bright red berry, spice and juniper berry. The palate is equally appealing, offering Marasca cherry, strawberry compote and star anise before and orange zest close. Balanced and ready, with lithe tannins and bright acidity, it’s a textbook Rosso, a great everyday wine with personality and no pretension. The Rosso di Montalcino is spicy, perfumed with dusty rose, dried strawberries and hints of camphor. It’s much more energetic than anticipated on the palate, as juicy acidity and vibrant red berry fruits are complemented by a sweet herbal twang. The 2020 finishes classically dry and poised, with the slightest hint of licorice that lingers. This is without a doubt one of the more pretty and balanced Rossos of this opulent vintage.

Vineyards & Soil
Sourced from the Testucchiaia and Palazzetto vineyards. Testucchiaia is at 320m in elevation and Palazzetto is at 220m. The soil is a mix of sand, clay and limestone in varying amounts depending on vineyard location.

Winemaking & Aging
Spontaneous fermentation and maceration for three weeks in stainless steel. Aged nine months in large, Slavonian oak barrels. Followed by at least a few months in the bottle before the wine's release.
