The Weathered Hands Pinotage 2021 is a distinguished wine from Dewaldt Heyns Family Wines, noted for its refined elegance and complexity. Sourced from bush vines grafted in 1973, this Pinotage exudes deep, dark purple hues with rich aromas of dark fruit, red berries, and ripe cherries, complemented by subtle spice and violet notes. The full-bodied palate offers textured layers of plush fruit and wild scrub nuances, enveloped in silky tannins that culminate in a long-lasting finish.
Composition: 100% Pinotage. Vine age from 1973, planted on Swartland soils.
Winemaking: The wine undergoes a meticulous fermentation process to preserve the integrity of the fruit.
Aging: Aged in barrels for 20 months to enhance its complexity and depth.
James Suckling (90): A medium-bodied pinotage with forest berries, plums, herbs and baking spices on the nose. Firm tannins with a serious character to it. Chalky with juicy blue fruit at the center and a vivid finish with some length. Drink or hold.
